Biography
Richard Thomas Nolan (1937- ) was born in Waltham, Mass. He received a B.A. from Trinity College in 1960, an M.Div. from the Hartford Seminary in 1963, an M.A. from Yale University in 1967, and a Ph.D. from New York University in 1973. He was ordained deacon in 1963 and priest in 1965 in the Episcopal Church. He held various school and college teaching positions starting in 1961. He joined Mattatuck Community College in 1969, where he was a professor until 1992. In 1974, he was named part-time pastor of St. Paul's Church in Bantam, a position he held until 1988. From 1984 to 1996 he was president of the Litchfield Institute. He retired to Florida in 1994. He is an author of books on religion and philosophy.
