On September 3, 1935, a year after Dorothy Bull's death, John Masefield wrote her older brother, Frederick Kingsbury Bull (1884-1968), thanking him for "the little mementos of Dorothy". Masefield had not seen Bull "for a long time" and had not heard news of her death while "in Australia".
