Folder 17
Scope and Contents
Six letters written by Alexander Thompson to his sister sister Arrabella Thompson Seymour and her husband Harvey Seymour. Thompson's letters describe his life on United States and Mexican navy ships, which took him to the Carribbean and Mediterranean Seas and the Gulf of Mexico. Harvey Seymour and Arrabella Seymour lived in Rhinebeck, N.Y., and a connection to the Seymour family of Litchfield has not been established. Two of the letters are originals and four are copies.
