Scope and Contents
Some of photos have descriptive captions which read:
Hon. Edward W. Seymour. Son of Judge of Supreme Court of Connecticut, U.S. Congress Rep. Taken in his library in the house he built on South St. next to the Roman Catholic Church, when he married Mary Floyd Tallmadge - daughter of Frederick Augustus Tallmadge and Elizabeth Hannah Canfield.
Dr. Storrs O. Seymour (1836) first President of the Litchfield Historical Society (1893-1916) and the Hon. George M. Woodruff, 2nd president. They were double first cousins.
Mrs. Storrs O. Seymour at St. Michaels Rectory, Litchfield (about 1910) reading what looks like a church bulletin from St. James.
Photos taken at The Litchfield Studio identifies Rev. Dr. Storrs O. Seymour (1836-1918), Rector St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Litchfield, 1879-1883 and 1893-1916. Rector Emeritus until his death, 1918.
