Scope and Contents
Three letters and 1 fabric swatch. In the first letter, Harriet tells her father that she wants to buy a photo album and asks for him to send her a photo as well as money to get her own photo taken. Lucy and Harriet both describe Lucy’s health and the weather. Lucy tells Winthrop of a letter he has received and her gardening plans. In the second letter Harriet tells her father who has been drafted, of local deaths, and the health of other family members. Lucy tells Winthrop of visits to family members and her need of money. In the third letter Harriet writes about the holiday season, winter sports, the death of a family member, and sends a piece of Edward’s new clothes. Lucy describes various household purchases she has made.
