Scope and Contents
Two letters, in the first, Harriet tells her father about what she is studying in school, describes her new dress, enquires about a soldier who visited her class, and talks about the upcoming holidays. Lucy congratulates Winthrop on getting some soldiers to take a temperance pledge and tells him that she received the things he sent. In the second letter Harriet talks about clothing, school, and she encloses a piece of her new apron. Lucy discusses money matters with Winthrop.
