Scope and Contents
Four letters, in the first Lucy discusses her trouble writing long letters, the behavior of the children, and a thanksgiving dinner. She also talked about her health, visits from friends, and getting someone to paint the house. In the second letter she describes the health of friends and family and her plans to go to Monterrey and also a possible trip to Alexandria, Va. In the third letter Lucy tells Winthrop about her thoughts on how long he should stay chaplain, of visitors, and various household activities. In the last letter Lucy describes some household tasks she must do before going to Monterrey.
