Scope and Contents
Five letters, in the first letter Lucy discusses how much work she has to do in the household as well as what activities the children are engaged in. Attached to this letter is one from Harriet who describes she has been doing in her daily life and about a trip she made. In the second letter, Lucy tells of receipts she forwarded to Winthrop and her trouble catching their horse when it is out at pasture. In the third letter, Lucy talks about Col. Elisha Kellogg’s death and visiting his wife. Lucy also asks questions about missing soldiers. In the fourth letter, Lucy talks about Col. Kellogg’s funeral. In the fourth letter, Lucy talks about other correspondence, household life, and her worry about Winthrop being in a more dangerous area.
