Scope and Contents
Four letters, in the first letter Lucy describes a revival preacher who has come to town and her dilemma about sending Winthrop E. to school or keeping him for the revival. She also describes the preparation to get him ready for school, a chimney fire they had, and the state of her health. The second letter contains a list of Lucy’s debts and purchases, and stories about the children. Attached to this letter is one from Edward Phelps which says that Mr. Parker preaches in town. In the third letter, Lucy talks about the revival meetings and going on medication for a cold. This letter also has letters attached from Harriet and Winthrop E. Phelps, who both talk about the revival meetings. In the third letter, Lucy describes the revival meetings and the children’s Christmas presents. Attached to this letter is one from Harriet Phelps telling her want to visit Winthrop and describing the revival meeting, its’ minister, and a list of converts.
