Scope and Contents
Three letters: In the first, Lucy notes how long it has been since Winthrop has written and includes letters from Winthrop E. and Harriet Phelps. Winthrop E. talks about the death of the president, the fall of Richmond, and school. Harriet talks about visitors and a desire for her father to buy a farm in Virginia. In the second letter, Lucy lists household and clothing purchases and details money matters. In the third letter, Lucy discusses gardening and cleaning and includes a letter from Winthrop E. Phelps who describes what he is studying in school.
