3 letters, in the first letter Winthrop describes how much he misses Lucy and the disappointment he has that she does not write him more often, with more affection. He also talks about places he visits, food he buys, a rash the soldiers have been getting, officers in the regiment, and Lucy’s health. In the second letter, he talks about inspections, going to another church, and photographs he sent. In the third letter, he talks about sending letters for prisoners, his health, the new location of headquarters, and describes the soldier who lives in the tent next to his.
