Scope and Contents
3 letters, the first and fourth letters discuss money matters. The first letter tells of news of officers, the children, and a visit from Governor Buckingham. In the second letter he talks about new troops, the size of the regiment, and the health of the soldiers. He also discusses the proposed order to send the regiment to Texas. In the third letter, he talks of the death of a soldier and the number of soldiers deserting. He also talks about Lucy’s health, how he misses Lucy and the children, and things he sees in camp.
