3 letters, in the first letter Winthrop talks about wanting Lucy to be more loving, what is happening on the Fourth, and soldiers angry about not being able to go home. He also talks about a visit from Maj. Jones and his wife and things happening at home. In the second letter, Winthrop describes his feelings and missing Lucy, performing church services, soldiers leaving to go home, picture taking, and sending money home for the soldiers. He also discusses news from camp, Winthrop E. Phelps coming to visit, clothing, food he eats, and wanting to come home. In the third letter, he talks about things he is sending home for Lucy, instructions for Winthrop E. for his journey, missing Lucy, and news of camp.
