1 letter, in this letter Joseph talks about hearing that his brother is wounded and asks Winthrop to keep him updated. He also tells Winthrop how he had a brother die in a Massachusetts regiment and how it is wrong for his brothers to be on opposite sides. In another part of this letter, Joseph writes to his brother asking how he could fight with the Confederates, against his brother and country.
