3 letters, in the first letter Carrie talks about an encounter with Lucy F. Robinson Phelps, Winthrop’s living conditions in camp, and the effect of the war of the families in the north. She also writes about news of people in town, prayer meetings, the new minister in town, Mr. Holly. In the second letter, she discusses why she has not written in a while, the weather, and her current activities. In the third letter, Carrie discusses Sabbath school, missing Winthrop being their minister, and a description of a church meeting and who performed each part of the service.
