Morris, John M. to Phelps, Winthrop H., Rev., 1863 Oct - 1863 Nov
Folder 31
Scope and Contents
3 letters, each of these letters is written by John M. Morris on behalf of the journal, The Connecticut War Record. The first letter is written to Col. Kellogg asking for him to find a correspondent for the War Record, which he presumably gave to Winthrop. Included in this letter is a letter to “the agent of the War Record” where John lays out the guidelines for his job as a correspondent and how much he gets per subscription. In the second letter, John thanks Winthrop for agreeing to become the agent for the War Record. In the third letter, he writes about what he wants Winthrop to write about in his first article and asks if Winthrop wants to be a regular correspondent.
