In the second letter, he discusses why he has neglected replying to Winthrop’s letter, and what Winthrop E. Phelps is studying in school. Included with this letter is a bill for Winthrop E.’s schooling. In the third letter, B.F. acknowledges receiving money for the school bill and talks about health and news of those at the school.
