Scope and Contents
1 booklet, 45 transcribed letters, this booklet was created by Richard Smith in May 1994 and covers letters by Winthrop H. Phelps, Rev. from May, 1864 through February 1865. In an introduction Richard provides a brief history of the 2[sup]nd[/sup] Connecticut Volunteer Artillery as well as a short summation of the letters subjects. The author notes how he edited the letters in order to aid the reader. The author also notes that every effort was made in order to preserve the “feeling” of the letters. Note: these transcriptions have not been checked for accuracy with the original letters.
