Daybook #2 contains entries for a variety of goods and services offered by Boardman’s store. Credits were given for labor including making and mending garments; farm work; barrel making; iron work; carting; carpentry; and hat making. Credits were also given for goods such as produce, crops, and dairy as well as pelts from animals including cats; skunks; muskrats; and rabbits.

Boardman sold a variety of goods including produce; meat and dairy products; coffee; tea; rum and wine; chocolate; sugar; paper; locks; candles; codfish; tools; bricks; and lumber. The textile offerings included chintz; muslin; velvet; cotton; ribbon; thread; buttons; silk; lace; linen; and calico as well as accessories such as gloves; combs of ivory and horn; hats; shoe buckles; and shoes. There are also lists of goods brought in from other places to restock inventory.

Of particular interest in this account book is an entry for “Temp Negro” on page 14 dated 31 May 1793 for one thimble. Boardman’s order paid to “Betty Negro” is entered on 1793 December 25, page 258.

This volume also contains several entries for Tapping Reeve, proprietor of the Litchfield Law School. Boardman's brother, David Sherman, was studying with Reeve in 1793. An entry for Reeve on 22 July 1793 references Boardman’s bill due Tapping Reeve. In August, there is a charge to David Sherman for law books, and in October a list of goods purchased by Reeve. Boardman’s civic involvement is reflected in the daybook with entries that show work done and supplies for the town and schoolhouse in November 1793 including a charge to the schoolmaster for construction of a writing table.

A series of entries in November 1793 for Boardman’s mother-in-law Anna Mason Whiting shows credits for work and for a dress that was then given as payment to a third party. There is also an entry crediting Homer Boardman with carting furniture from Great Barrington. Boardman’s father-in-law died in December of 1792.
