Scope and Contents
Receipts and notes from Elijah Boardman payable in cash or goods from his store. Many of the items in this bundle refer to land in other towns such as Waterbury, Duxbury, and Smithfield. Some of them may pertain to the firm of Elijah and Daniel Boardman as they are signed by both parties. Many have to do with debts paid in cattle and livestock. A receipt from Daniel P. Clark dated 1807 Sep 12 notes that Elijah and Daniel Boardman paid him to go to Vermont on business for the current court.
