Two letters, one from Virgil Dryden Bonesteel to Cornelia E. Boardman regarding the availability of horses to purchase. Notes that Mr. Pallock will bring horses to show her on Saturday. He leaves room for his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Todd Bonesteel, to add a letter regarding her son's croup and sickness and her wish to visit New Milford. Asks Cornelia to congratulate a friend who had a daughter and requests that she write. The second, from Sarah Todd Bonesteel in Poughkeepsie, is addressed to Cornelia Boardman and Ellen Wright in New Milford (Wright's brother George William married Cornelia's niece and namesake Cornelia Elizabeth Schroeder). The date is no longer extant due to poor condition which also obscures other parts of the text. Bonesteel primarily writes to scold Ellen and Cornelia for their negligence in not writing. She shares political news, notes attendance at her first and probably last public meeting, and teases them about various suitors.
