Scope and Contents
Two letters to Cornelia E. Boardman signed "Jeannie." The first letter is dated 1871 February 10. In it, the writer laments the anniversary of the death of Aunt Sarah (Sarah Hall Benham Boardman died in February 1870). Her husband is a clergy member, and the church where they serve has constructed a parish house where they reside. Mentions their son being in school in Racine and how she misses him. Asks about various nieces and nephews of Cornelia. The second letter is dated 9 Feb with no year given. The author writes about various clergymen who refused the office of Bishop. Mentions that her dear Lawrence has a position of great responsibility in Chicago. Notes the return of a photo of Lilly's child as she had a duplicate made; touches upon bereavement in the family. She also mentioned sending a photo of Jane and Cornelia to Mary Seward and gives other family news.
