Sub-Series 3.1.1.1.
Scope and Contents
Letter from Ithaca, NY from Mary to Cornelia E. Boardman. Thanks her for her long letter; notes having received letters from Mrs. Schroeder. Asks Cornelia to tell Caroline that she has a good idea of Mary's religious character, but would like to be more about other parts of her character in order to complete her work. (This may refer to the Schroeder's daughter Mary who died in 1842. "Memoir of the life and character of Mrs. Mary Anna Boardman" refers to a poem titled "Stanzas, suggested by the death of a young daughter of the Rev. Dr. Schroeder" that was included in Mrs. Mary Noel McDonald's volume of published poems). The author also writes of her beliefs regarding the Episcopal and Congregatonal churches and sends her regards to Cornelia's mother and friends.
