Cornelia E. Boardman writes to her mother Mary Anna Whiting Boardman from New York. Thanks her for her letter; notes that they are all well though Caroline Boardman Schroeder has a sore mouth and stomach upset; gives news of visitors; William came to town and will stay until next week; he is delighted with Uncle’s portrait and they quarrel over who is to have it; discusses weddings of various friends including Miss Lockwood and Mr. Hine; She has been collecting donations for the mission school including the clothing fund and she and Lavinia went to sew for them; thanks her mother for veal, sausages, cakes and apples; Sending overshoes and fur shoes with Mr. Thayer, would like her mother to wear the fur shoes around the house; Will is sending oysters from New Haven; the children are healthy.
