Porter, noting her happiness at receiving a letter from him and asking him two write to her uncle about a rumor she has heard regarding a marriage, possibly of her cousin. She notes that she believes it true that they will not marry while the father of the woman in question is alive. She asks that Rev. Porter tell her uncle about the gentleman's reputation.
