Scope and Contents
Two photographs related to Benjamin Filley. 1) Portrait of Benjamin Filley. Label with photograph has brief biographical information, including, "Enlisted in the war, Sept. 1862. Taken prisoner before Petersburgh, June 22, 1864. Suffered the horrors of Andersonville three months. Then removed to Florence, S.C. where he died, Oct. 31, 1864." 2) Photograph identified on back as a "Civil War company of infantry. Found in back of photo of Benjamin Filley. He was in Co. D. 2nd Ct. V. heavy artillery."
