Informs Mary that his father and family adore Anna and his father has given him an annual income to allow for their marriage and "to go to housekeeping." His father suggest a spring wedding & that they live in his house for a year. Charles has eye trouble and has hired a clerk to read and write to him. Remarks on a case - some clients brought a witness who concealed facts that had he known he would not have taken the case.
