Scope and Contents
1777 DEC 16 Isaac Baldwin, clerk of the court, commands the Litchfield County Sheriff or his Deputy to summons Daniel Abbott of Cornwall to appear before the Litchfield County Court on the fourth Tuesday of March. The charge against Abbott is "Neglecting and Refusal to muster and march" in the northern department for the Continental Army as ordered on 1777 JUL 7 by Joshua Pierce Jr., Commander of the 4th Company of the 14th Regiment and issued by Charles Burral, Esq., regiment commander. 1777 MAR 12 Lynde Lord, Sheriff left a copy of the summons at Daniel Abbott's home in Cornwall. The fine was paid in full. Sam Canfield served as Justice.
