Scope and Contents
Three letters: one from Benjamin Tallmadge to his daughter Maria, and two anonymous letters.
Tallmadge's letter, written when Maria was young, contains advice on grammar; criticizes Thomas Paine; and encourages Maria to teach "Ebo" to read.
The two anonymous letters are addressed to "Officers of the Army" and exhort its listeners to argue for better treatment now that the Revolutionary War has been concluded.
