Scope and Contents
Three printed receipts dated in Litchfield from Boyd & Thayer to Elihu Harrison for grass scythes (stamped W. Thayer). Harrison promised to pay $11.00 per dozen for scythes sold and return those that are unsold. Boyd & Thayer was formed by James Boyd and Wheelock Thayer in Winsted, Connecticut and became the Thayer Scythe Co. in 1867.
