From New Haven, Conn.,Hotchkiss, Towner & Atwater's bills, receipts & correspondence to Elihu Harrison in Litchfield. The latter purchased items such as boags of coffee, St. Croix and New Orleans sugar, spices, sperm candles, mackeral, pimento, and molasses. Correspondence from Hotchkiss, Towner & Atwater mention the scarcity of molasses and salt, and the beginning of a new City Bank in New Haven.
