The Truman Guild school books collection (1975-27,28,30, 32, and 33-0) is a collection of four volumes of school books created by Truman Guild. The notebooks cover various topics such as arithmetic, poetry, Greek poetry and translations, drawings, penmanship, and many other topics. One of the volumes contains a poem that was published in the Litchfield Enquirer, and another volume contains a list of all the books that Guild had read to date. Biographical or Historical Information
Truman Guild wrote poetry for the Litchfield Enquirer. A poem in his collection of school book contains a poem published in the newspaper on February 19, 1874 entitled "Jesus Wept." Guild was a surveyor, justice of the peace, carpenter, and teacher.
