Photograph album containing photographs from Harwinton, East Litchfield, Litchfield, Torrington, New Preston, Washington and Hartford Connecticut as well as photographs of Georgia which include formerly enslaved people. The photographs depict buildings, people, and scenes from the various towns. All are identified and most are dated. The majority of photographs are credited to Newman Hungerford, several are credited to H.P Averill. Many of the photographs appear to have been produced as postcards, but also contain notations as to date, location, and subject. Many have been stamped with, "Photo. by Newman Hungerford." and "Harwinton Center, Connecticut."

Harwinton photos include many of the Congregational Church and its pastors and local homes. Photographs of a few individual residents are also included. Agricultral photographs include cultivating potatoes, loading rye onto ox carts, and the Harwinton Fair.

Photographs of Litchfield include the East Litchfield railroad station, agricultural photos, and homes.

Similar subjects appear in photos of Torrington, New Preston, Washington, and Hartford.

The album includes photos from several locations in Georgia, primarily Monticello. They depcit buildings, "Monument Day," schools; formerly enslaved individuals and groups and confederate sites. The individuals who are named include Maum Dina, Orangeburg SC, 1902; Squire Goolsby, Monticello GA 1909; "Solid Comfort" undated; and Bob Jordan, Monticello GA 1911. another shows an African American man identified as George Gordon, Monticello, GA, 1906 but does not identify him as having been enslaved.

There are also photos of the Confederate Soldier's Home in 1902; the Indian Spring Hotel depicting General William McIntosh in the upper left corner and McIntosh Rock in the lower right corner. There is also a photo of a confederate intrenchment in Atlanta.
