Biographical / Historical

Susan Camp Nickerson, principal of the Young Ladies' Institute of Troy, N.Y. was born in Norfolk, CT, in 1814. In 1835, she married Anson Nickerson, also of Norfolk, who died in 1848. By 1850, she was living in Troy and by 1860, she had moved to Albany, NY. She died in 1900 and was buried in Rochester, NY.
