Custodial History
The pay order was purchased some time around 1990 from an autograph dealer named Conway Barker by G. Warren Whitaker. It remained in his collection until being donated to the Litchfield Historical Society in 2026. The history of document prior to its possession by Conway Barker remains unknown.
