Scope and Contents
The Dr. Charles Norton Warner record books (1981-30-0) contain handwritten birth and death records of Dr. Warner's patients in Litchfield, Connecticut from 1897-1905. Birth records are present for the 1897-1905 time span, and record minimal information such as the child's name, basic statistics about the parents, and any unique remarks concerning the birth or the child. Basic death records are included for the years 1899 and 1901-1903. Death records list of the cause of death, name, marital status, residence, nativity, and burial cemetery if known. Included with Dr. Warner's records are a small amount of blank Medical Certificates of Death. Also included is a fragment of a larger piece that acknowledges that Norton Warner had the most Victory note subscriptions. .

Biographical or Historical Information
Dr. Charles N. Warner was the son of Jairus N. and Frances Spur Warner. He was born September 23, 1865 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. In 1896 he graduated from Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and began his practice in Litchfield that same year.
Dr. Warner was later on the staff of Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, and was a member of the State Medical Society and the Litchfield County Medical Society. He was also a member of the Litchfield County University Club and was a Burgess of Litchfield Borough. Dr. Warner was also involved with the Litchfield Savings Society, serving as an office and later as the Vice-President, President, and Treaurer.
At the time of his death on January 27, 1946 he left his wife, Mrs. Harriette G. Warner of Litchfield; a son, Dr. C. Norton Warner, Jr.; and three grandchildren.
