Scope and Contents
The Underwood Papers (2011-03-0) consist of a packing list of Mrs. Frank Livingston Underwood and her and her husband's genealogy. The packing list is a detailed list of barrels and crates packed with home furnishings, dining services, draperies, etc. The genealogy traces the Underwood family back to Charlemagne. Frank Livingston Underwood (1842-1918), a New York copper magnate, and his wife Theodosia Irene Hawley Underwood live at 149 East 40th Street in Manhattan and in 1895 built a summer house in Litchfield, Livingwood, on North Street in 1895. The packing list is housed in Small Acquisitions and the genealogy is housed in a tube box in 18A.
