Biographical / Historical
John DaRoss & Sons, Inc., was incorported in March, 1956, in Litchfield, CT. Prior to that, DaRoss operated as a sole proprietor. For most of the company's existence, Judith DaRoss Stackamore served as office manager and bookkeeper, and appears to have created most of the of the documents produced by the company that are contained in this collection. The firm is no longer in existence.

Arrangement
The records have been arranged in nine series, and original order has been preserved whenever possible. Different filing systems were used over the years, and these are reflected in the records: depending on the type of record and the time period, documents were filed alphabetically, by date in chronological order, or by date in reverse chronological order. These various arrangements have been maintained in sub-series.
