Scope and Contents This volume begins New Milford 31 August 1795. As in earlier accounts, Boardman lists African American customers by noting their first name followed by "Negro." "Frank Negro" makes a purchase, and "Jethro Negro" makes purchases and is given credits for work. There is also a notation of flour sent in Boardman's wagon to New Haven by "Sam Negro" in July of 1796.
