The collection consists of what appears to be a grouping of family papers, including foreign and domestic post cards, greeting cards, and correspondence; souvenir folders; miscellaneous printed items; calling cards; news clippings; diaries; maps; materials relating to commencement at Brown University; and report cards and school progress reports. Family names in the collection include, but are not limited to, Allen, Dowd, Osborn, Stoddard, and Thielens.

Scope and Contents Caroline Stoddard Newcomer papers (1953-27-0), Correspondence, family data sheets, a photograph, and other items related to the genealogy of Caroline Stoddard Newcomer. Born in Litchfield, Conn., in 1852, she and her extended family moved to Tama County, Iowa, in 1854. The papers primarily document the children of Caroline's great-grandfather Gideon Stoddard (1768-1846) of Litchfield. The Stoddard family genealogy collection (2013-137-0) consists of 2 folders. In Folder 1 is a book, "John Stoddard of Wethersfield, Conn., and his descendants" by D. Williams Patterson, published by Rev. E. W. Stoddard in 1873. There are handwritten notes in the back. In Folder 2 are miscellaneous notes and newspaper clippings about Stoddards; and an application for membership in the DAR by Caroline Stoddard Newcomer, descendant of Obed Stoddard.
