Biography
From the Connecticut Historical Society, "Newman Hungerford was born in Monticello, Georgia on 14 May 1849. He later moved to Connecticut where he worked for Blodget and Clapp for many years until his retirement in 1900. He was a prominent philatelist and numismatist and a donor to the Connecticut Historical Society. He lived in Harwinton and died in Torrington on 8 May 1927.
