Biography

William Doyle Brennan was born in Litchfield on July 20, 1922 to William J. and Margaret (Doyle) Brennan. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a member and past Commander of Post 27 of the American Legion. Brennan served as a supervisor with the United States Postal Service. He retired in 1977 after 36 years of service. He also served as a Tax Collector for the Town of Litchfield and was a Realtor with E.J. Murphy Real Estate Company. Brennan was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a founder of the Litchfield High School Hall of Fame.
