Biography

John Francis Eugene Prudhomme (1817-1884) worked as an engraver and daguerreotypist. His studio opened on Broadway in 1850 or 1851 and was closed by 1852 when he decided to focus entirely on engraving. He worked at the Bureau of Engraving from 1869-1885.

The Litchfield Historical Society photograph collection is an artifical collection brought together by staff that contains photographs that primarily were part of the vertical files collection.
