Biography

Daniel Sheldon, a son of Isaac and Elizabeth Pratt Sheldon, of Hartford, Conn., was born there in 1726. He graduated from Yale in 1747. His life was spent in Hartford. He attained the rank of captain in the militia in 1770 and died in 1772.  In 1749, he married Lucretia, daughter of Jonah and Susanna Bunce Gross of Hartford, who died within three months of her husband's death. Among their children was Daniel Sheldon, a physician in Washington and Litchfield, Conn.
