Biography

Charles Greely Loring was born in Boston on May 2, 1794, the son of Caleb Loring and Ann Greely Loring. He graduated from Harvard in 1812 and studied at the Litchfield (Conn.) Law School in 1813. In 1818 he married Anna Pierce Brace, daughter of James Brace and Susan Mary (Pierce) Brace of Litchfield, Conn. Charles Loring became a prominent Boston attorney and a Massachusetts State Senator in 1862. He died on Oct. 8, 1868.
