Katherine Bissell Bogert Roe (1852-1921) was born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of John Banta Bogert, a resident of New York and later of Montana, who was a wholesale hardware merchant, and his wife Elizabeth Caroline Bissell, born in Litchfield, Conn. Elizabeth Bissell's mother was a daughter of John Bissell and Katherine Marsh Bissell of Litchfield, Conn. In 1874, Katherine Bissell Bogert married Charles Francis Roe (1848-1922) in Bozeman, Montana. They had three children.
