This collection documents the life and activities of Edward L. Mabry (1898-1989), the chief executive of Vick Chemical Co. and an accomplished poet, from 1980 to1987. It primarily encompasses his personal life and the eighteen books of poetry and sayings that he published during his lifetime. The majority of collection is comprised of correspondence between Mabry and individuals in his social circle and publishing life as well as writing notes and drafts of his stand-alone poetry and several of his books. The correspondence is largely addressed to Arthur Fowler, Jerry Jackson, and Geraldine. Scattered amongst the collection are assorted bits of ephemera from Mabry's life, including his schedule, assorted memoranda, and two drafts of his last will and testament.
