Asa Baldwin account books
The Asa Baldwin account books (1982-09-0) are two account books used by Asa Baldwin from 1790 to 1810. Judging from the contents of the book Asa Baldwin musts have owned a general store or a shop, but he also appears to have been a gravedigger because there are a few entries in the book about receiving money for digging graves. Baldwin may have also just done odd jobs around town because, along with digging graves, there are some mentions of performing services such as mending a pail and making buckets; these appear mostly in the second book. The two books are organized by person with whom the transaction was made and then lists services or goods purchased or received. The collection is housed in oversized boxes in box 10 on shelf 3B.
