2 letters, in the first letter Winthrop talks about selling their horse, money matters, soldiers ransacking southern houses and other actions, and messages for the children. In the second letter, Winthrop describes a battle the regiment is in and a man who was saved because a bullet hit his pocket watch. This letter was written on a letter from Henrietta E. Walker, who is writing to ask Winthrop to pray for her son, who has entered the army at 16 under an assumed name.
