Scope and Contents
2 letters, in the first letter Elizabeth informs Winthrop of the death of Reverend Otis Lombard, the details surrounding his illness and last days. She also talks about her feelings on his death and the future and asks Winthrop to write an obituary notice for him. To help Winthrop write the obituary, Elizabeth includes an account of her husband’s earlier life. Also grouped with this is a draft of the obituary written by Winthrop. In the second letter she writes description of the pastors at her husband’s church, news of her family, and talks about what she has to do now that her husband is dead.
